New Delhi, Dec 21: The President, Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated several new tourist attractions at Rashtrapati Nilayam today.
Rashtrapati Nilayam, situated in Hyderabad, remains open to the public throughout the year, excluding the President's southern sojourn. Visitors can conveniently book their slots online through http://visit.rashtrapati bhavan.gov.in.

The Nilayam welcomes visitors six days a week (except Mondays and government holidays) from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm, with the last entry at 04:00 pm.

For those who prefer spontaneous visits, a walk-in booking facility is available at the Reception Office, Rashtrapati Nilayam, ensuring accessibility for all. This initiative marks a commendable effort to make cultural heritage more accessible and engaging for the public.

The diverse offerings aim to showcase historical significance, engage younger audiences, and promote awareness of traditional practices and heritage. Among the unveiled attractions are: Replica of Historic Flag Post: A towering 36-meter (120 ft) teak wood Flag Post, historically marking the integration of Hyderabad state into the Indian Union in 1948, stands as a symbol of unity and national pride. Maze Garden and Children’s Park: The Maze Garden, featuring the captivating Murraya Exotica, and the newly established Children’s Park cater to both tranquillity seekers and younger visitors, providing a harmonious blend of nature and recreation.

Restoration of Step Wells and Traditional Irrigation System: The restoration of three-step wells not only preserves historical architecture but also contributes significantly to rainwater harvesting. This initiative enhances water security and promotes local resource sustainability. Additionally, traditional irrigation systems on display serve as educational tools, offering insights into the region's rich heritage. Shiva and Nandi Sculptures on Rock Water Cascade: A mesmerizing addition to the landscape, Dakshinamurthy Shiva seated under a banyan tree, facing South, and the Nandi Bull on a rock, provide spiritual and artistic allure, creating a unique ambience for visitors. New Enclaves in the Knowledge Gallery: The Knowledge Gallery welcomes two new enclaves.
