Baramulla, Oct 11: Attending the virtual launch of Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission at Baramulla on Saturday, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar, said these initiatives would strengthen the agriculture sector, improve farmers’ income, and advance sustainable and self-reliant farming practices across Jammu and Kashmir.

The PMDDKY and Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission were virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

MLA Baramulla, Javid Hassan Beigh; Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; heads of various departments, and progressive farmers were also present on the occasion.

The event, aimed at boosting agricultural growth, enhancing food security, and promoting self-sufficiency in pulses production.

The participants appreciated the Centre’s continued focus on farmers’ welfare.
