‘NC’s statements & actions expose its hypocrisy’: MLA Doda on Rajya Sabha poll outcome

Srinagar, Oct 25: AAP leader and incarcerated MLA Doda Mehraj Malik on Saturday said that statements and actions of National Conference (NC) have proved its hypocrisy. He said though I chose to vote NC in Rajya Sabha polls from jail, but now I am being questioned by some of their leaders which shows their height of shamelessness.

In a statement issued, MLA Doda Mehraj Malik said even after casting my vote for the NC from jail without them ever reaching out or making the slightest effort to seek my support I am now being questioned by some of their leaders. This is the absolute height of shamelessness.

He said that let me make it clear. The National Conference was never serious about winning this Rajya Sabha seat. They neither approached me nor showed any intent to build consensus. Still, keeping the larger interests of Jammu & Kashmir in mind, I chose to vote for them believing my vote could make a difference. Unfortunately, now I realised that some among them were already compromised and had decided to side with the BJP.

MLA Doda said that today their actions and statements only expose their hypocrisy and double standards. Those pretending to be anti-BJP are the same ones proving their friendship with Sat Sharma. Moreover, by fielding a Muslim candidate from Nagrota, the National Conference is only helping the BJP to consolidate its position a move that clearly shows where their true loyalties lie, he said.
