Srinagar, Sep 26: National Conference (NC) Vice President, Omar Abdullah today said that his party showcased exceptional performance in South, Central Kashmir, Chenab, Pir Panjal regions, effectively countering the divisive politics of the BJP in both phases of the assembly elections.

According to a press release, he was addressing a series of back to back election rallies in Uri, Trehgam, and Sonawari assembly constituencies. Omar said, "There are reports suggesting that the BJP President may be trailing behind the National Conference candidate. In the upcoming third phase, the voters of North Kashmir must demonstrate understanding and maturity by rejecting those who propagate false and emotional slogans. Instead, they should elect representatives who can truly voice the concerns of the people in the assembly, not just in parliament."

The NC Vice President emphasised the importance of using votes wisely in the upcoming assembly elections to ensure that the voice of the people is heard. "It is crucial to elect representatives who will advocate people's needs and address their daily challenges effectively. The time for change is now, and it is up to the people of North Kashmir to make their voices heard and demand the representation they deserve,” he said.

Omar Abdullah stated that the BJP's strategy of dividing the votes and mandate in Kashmir is a deliberate attempt to establish an assembly that will legitimise the decisions made on August 5, 2019. "These decisions have stripped us of our rights to our own lands, deprived our youth of job opportunities, and taken away our rights to our natural resources. This has resulted in the loss of two parts of our state and the central administration of our historic region," he said.

Omar Abdullah asked that it has been more than five years since GoI revoked “our rights on August 5, 2019, which youth got an employment order?” “In which area the new factory is located? Where did the investment take place? In which sector did the people here get relief? . The fact is that the people here have seen nothing but hardships and troubles," he said.

The NC Vice-President appealed to the people to make the National Conference candidates successful and give them a chance to work for peoples' betterment. He said that the National Conference has prepared a comprehensive program and has put it before the people through its manifesto and will try hard, if NC government comes, all the promises and announcements will be implemented.
