NC strongly facing challenges : Dr Farooq

Srinagar, May 16: National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that his party has been strongly facing the challenges.

“National Conference has faced the toughest challenges in the past like a rock and is standing firm against the current trials as well. By the grace of Allah, the people have given their full confidence to the National Conference in Srinagar seat and the party has also received immense support from the people in the North Kashmir and Anantnag Rajouri seats,”he said.

According to a press note, Dr Farooq Abdullah was speaking at a party function. He welcomed G M Mir along with his supporters in NC. The new joinees belong to the Soibug area in Budgam district. The function was organized by party leader Amit Kaul while Minority Cell convener Jagdish Singh Azad was also present on the occasion. On this occasion, the party entrants were welcomed and garlanded with flowers, the press note added.

National Conference President lamented the government's apathy of ignoring Jammu and Kashmir's identity and culture. He said to face these serious challenges, every resident of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh has to play their role thoughtfully in the current parliamentary elections and the upcoming assembly elections in September. NC President said that the love of the people has made his party stronger and NC has always considered the people as the source of power. He appealed to those who joined the party to stay in close contact with the people and to work for the success of the party candidates in the current elections.
