NC spreading canards to deceive electorate in J&K, says BJP’s Rana as Omar Abdullah hints at BJP-PDP alliance

Srinagar, Sep 02: The senior Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Devendra Singh Rana on Monday said that JKNC vice president, Omar Abdullah is trying everything in book to fool the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, Omar does this by projecting every other party other than JKNC as an alliance of BJP, which isn't true, he said.

Rana, who was a member of the JKNC, said that in 2014 elections, JKNC and Omar Abdullah tried their utmost to alliance with BJP.

"I was a part of that team back then, Omar went to New Delhi, met BJP members including Ram Madhav and requested to form a coalition. Omar was ready to accept any condition from the BJP," Rana told a private TV channel here.

Then after 5 August 2019, great efforts were made by NC leaders to make some kind of contact with the BJP. "I say it because I was there until October 2021," Rana said.

JKNC is only trying to make fool of people of Kashmir, but the people of Kashmir are politically mature, and they know things, Rana said.
