NC receiving overwhelming response from people : Mian Altaf

Kulgam, May 21: Senior National Conference leader and Lok Sabah candidate for Anantnag-Rajouri seat Mian Altaf on Tuesday said that his party is receiving an overwhelming response from voters across the length and breadth of the constituency.

"Be it Pahalgam, Shangus, Kokernag Surnankot or Mendhar, people from all parts of the constituency take part in our rallies and listen to us", Mian Altaf told reporters in south Kashmir's Kulgam district where he addressed a series of rallies and conventions.

He said that people have made up their mind to vote in favour of National Conference.

" We are convinced that people will vote for us", said Mian Altaf.

Upbraiding People's Democratic Party ( PDP) for sewing an alliance with BJP, Main Altaf said that the party betrayed the mandate of people.

" In 2014, they proclaimed in the streets of Kulgam that BJP would come to power if they were not voted for", he said.

Mian Altaf asserted that the party is responsible for all the destruction witnessed in Kashmir.

The Lok Sabha candidate , however, did not directly mention the name of PDP.

Imran Nabi Dar, state spokesperson NC, while addressing a rally in Bogam area of the district urged people to vote for the National Conference candidate.

Launching a tirade on PDP, Dar said that the party in 2014 elections claimed that it would keep the BJP out.
