NC President meets delegations
Srinagar, Jan 27: National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah today met a number of delegations here.
According to a press release, a delegation of J&K National Conference members from Budgam District, including the Vice Block President and Block Secretaries from Narbal, Soibugh, and Budgam, alongside senior party workers today called on party President, Dr Farooq Abdullah at his residence in Srinagar.
In the meeting, the delegation discussed party matters, developmental initiatives, and the formidable challenges confronting people in their respective areas.
Dr Farooq Abdullah listened to their grievances and promised action towards resolving each issue. Reaffirming the dedication of the Omar Abdullah-led government to upholding the promises enshrined in the party's manifesto, he reiterated party's vision to work towards sustainable progress and equitable development. He emphasised the return of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir as a cornerstone for effective governance and the overall welfare.
With the impending Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections, Dr Farooq Abdullah directed the delegation to start preparations, emphasising the nomination of educated youth and women as candidates, particularly in light of women reservations. He accentuated the pivotal role of youth and women in grassroots democracy, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive representation for all.
