NC MLA Mian Mehar Ali raises issue of 3 missing tribal youth
Srinagar, Mar 10: National Conference (NC) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kangan, Mian Mehar Ali on Monday raised the issue of the disappearance of three tribal youth from Qazigund area of south Kashmir.
He sought a fast track investigation into the disappearances. Mian Mehar expressed concern over the disappearance of Reyaz Ahmad and Showket Ahmad, residents of Pajan Qazigund and Mukhtar Ahmad resident of Lambar Qazigund in Anantnag district. They are missing since February. Mian Mehar jumped into the well of the house and sought the attention of the Speaker Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather in this matter. “ This is a serious issue, the families of these people are worried about the safety of their family members,” he said. The NC MLA urged the speaker for his intervention to fast track the investigations into their disappearance. MLA Devsar Peerzada Feroz Ahmed also protested and raised up the issue of missing of three tribal youth. He was later marshalled out of the assembly.
“I have been raising the issue of the three missing youth from Devsar in the ongoing J&K Legislative Assembly session. Their whereabouts remain unknown for weeks, leaving their families in deep distress. I will continue to pursue this matter until they are found” Mian Mehar Ali said.
