NC MLA detained at Sgr airport, released after producing pistol license
However the NC leader was later on allowed to go after he showed the licence of his pistol, reports said

Srinagar, Oct 27: An MLA of the ruling National Conference was detained on Sunday at the Srinagar International Airport after two live rounds were detected in his baggage, officials said.

Bashir Ahmad Veeri, the MLA from Srigufwara-Bijbehara Assembly seat, was stopped for questioning at the airport when the X-ray scan led to the recovery of two live rounds from his baggage, they said.

Veeri was travelling to Jammu on an IndiGo flight.

"These were just two cartridges of a licenced weapon left in my bag. First I showed soft copy of my valid arms licence, after which the security officials sought hard copy as well. I produced that too also. Then I was allowed to go ahead," the NC leader told Greater Kashmir. (With inputs from PTI)
