NC misleading people to obstruct growing influence of BJP in J&K: LoP Sunil Sharma
Srinagar, Nov 09: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma today launched a scathing attack on CM Omar Abdullah, accusing him of political hypocrisy and double standards. He said the NC leadership is desperately trying to mislead the people to obstruct the BJP's growing influence and development-oriented agenda in Jammu & Kashmir.
While addressing a massive rally at Ompora, Budgam, Sharma said that the NC is leaving no stone unturned to spread misinformation and create confusion among the people for political gain.
In a bold challenge, the LoP Sunil Sharma dared Omar Abdullah to swear on the Holy Quran before the people of Jammu & Kashmir, affirming that he has not been involved in any backdoor political manoeuvres or secret power deals. “The people deserve leaders who stand by truth and principles, not those who change their stance to suit their ambitions,” he stated.
Shri Sharma further reminded the public that it is widely known that Omar Abdullah made several attempts to forge an alliance with the BJP after the 2014 J&K Assembly elections, but the BJP’s principled leadership outrightly rejected such overtures, upholding its commitment to integrity, transparency, and public trust.
“The NC leadership should stop playing double politics and introspect on its repeated failures. The BJP’s politics is rooted in development, nationalism, and service to the people — not in opportunism or deceit,” Shri Sharma said.
He reaffirmed that the BJP will continue to expand its outreach across Jammu & Kashmir, working tirelessly for peace, progress, and prosperity for every citizen without discrimination.
