NC leaders pay tributes to former minister Mushtaq Lone on his death anniversary
Srinagar, Sep 11: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Thursday held a commemorative event at Sogam, Kupwara to mark the 23rd death anniversary of former minister Mushtaq Ahmad Lone.
The event witnessed an outpouring of respect and admiration as speakers paid rich tributes to the late leader, recalling his selfless service and far-reaching contributions to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, said a party statement.
The commemorative event was attended by several prominent political and public figures, including the Chief Minister’s Advisor, Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Lolab, Qaysar Jamshaid Lone, DDC Members Nasir Lone, Sanaullah Khan and Amina Majeed, among others.
Speakers described Mushtaq Lone as a visionary statesman whose pioneering initiatives in water conservation ushered in a new era for the agricultural sector. His transformative policies not only empowered the farming community but also played a significant role in alleviating poverty, particularly across the Lolab Valley and other rural areas of the region.
“His legacy continues to inspire and guide us. The agricultural reforms and water management systems he advocated for have left a lasting impact on the ground,” they said. They remembered Mushtaq Ahmad Lone not only as a political leader but as a people’s representative who worked tirelessly for justice, development, and prosperity. The event concluded with prayers for the departed soul and renewed pledges to carry forward his mission of public welfare and inclusive development.
