NC leader calls regular public engagement Govt’s success
Srinagar, Sep 17: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Adv Showkat Mir Wednesday stated “that the greatest achievement of the Omar Abdullah-led government is its success in reviving a long-lost sense of accountability within the administration and empowering citizens to once again ask the hard questions,” as per a party press release.
Speaking at a review meeting with party functionaries, Mir highlighted the success of the ongoing outreach programme and addressed several pressing public issues particularly the hardships faced by fruit growers across the region.
Mir stated, “The restoration of public accountability and the revival of democratic engagement between the people and the government under Omar Abdullah’s leadership remains the administration’s most enduring legacy. It wasn’t just about delivering governance, it was about rekindling the public’s confidence to question authority, demand transparency, and actively participate in democratic processes. That spirit had long been diminished in our region for a decade now,”
