NC govt dedicated to promote sports to tackle drug abuse: Tanvir Sadiq
Srinagar, Nov 3: National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq Sunday emphasised that the Omar Abdullah led government's dedication to promoting sports as a means to tackle the issue of drug abuse among the youth in the region.
Speaking at the 2024 Champions Trophy Cricket Tournament, hosted by the Cricket Fraternity Dalgate at the TRC ground, Sadiq highlighted the importance of sports in steering the youth away from harmful activities. He presented awards to the victorious team during the event.
In his address to the young participants, Tanvir stated, "Under the guidance of the Honorable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, our administration is fully committed to encouraging sports as a constructive outlet for the youth, particularly in the fight against drug abuse. We pledge to provide unwavering support to every young individual in Jammu and Kashmir who wishes to pursue sports."
He expressed gratitude to the Dalgate fraternity and its Chairman, Firdous Bazaz, for organizing such a remarkable event and fostering the development of our budding athletes.
