NC felicitates new YNC appointees, terms youth involvement in J&K's current political arena 'crucial'
Srinagar, June 29: The National Conference has conveyed its congratulations to the recently appointed officials of the Youth National Conference (YNC). The pivotal leadership transition, as per the party leadership, has occurred at a critical juncture, as the youth of Jammu and Kashmir confront numerous obstacles, including socio-economic hardships, restricted access to resources, and a demand for improved representation in decision-making processes.
In a statement, national conference senior leaders and legislators - Shameema Firdous, Salman Sagar, Ehsaan Pardeep said that the party is hopeful that this new group will reflect the ethos of their predecessors and actively champion the youth, guaranteeing that their voices are acknowledged and their concerns are articulated “This moment signifies a historic milestone for our party. The new leadership consists of highly talented and educated professionals, including research academics, technology graduates, and budding intellectuals. Their varied experiences and expertise enable them to serve society proficiently and carry forward the mission of Sher-e-Kashmir whose sole motive was the upliftment of the downtrodden and become voice of the voiceless," said Salman Ali Sagar.
Salman added that the youth involvement in the political arena of Jammu and Kashmir at the present time is crucial as the difficulties confronting young individuals necessitate innovative solutions and a compassionate attitude. "The Youth National Conference must not only reflect the aspirations of the younger generation but also engage in formulating policies that address their issues. We urge the new leaders to directly engage with the youth, heed their narratives, and convert their experiences into pragmatic initiatives," Salman said.
Ehsaan Pardesi said that the youth constitute the backbone of the society, and it is essential that their needs and aspirations are prioritised. "This new leadership have the capacity to serve as a formidable advocate for transformation and advancement in our region. We are confident they will meet the challenge and create a pathway to empowerment and opportunity. We must collaborate to establish platforms that enable dialogue and cultivate innovative ideas to advance our community."
Shameema Firdous in a statement expressed hope that these emerging leaders will advance party's goal. "We are prepared to assist them in their pursuits. There is a need for a renewed emphasis on tackling urgent challenges such as unemployment and education."
1. Irfan Zahgeer who is newly appointed vice president YNC Kashmir holds degree of master’s in public administration, joined youth wing of party in his school days was nominated Block President & Joint secretary of YNC Kashmir earlier.
2. Abid Wani another vice president of YNC from Srinagar has done his software engineering from Karnataka. Youth leader is associated with youth wing & was provincial secretary of youth body for 4 years beside media panelist of JKNC.
3. Another vice president from South Kashmir Adv Peerzada Musharraf is M A LLB from Jammu university, associated with party from his college days, remained District President Anantnag & Zonal President of youth wing South Kashmir before being nominated as vice president of YNC Kashmir.
4. Salman Matoo another vice president is BALLB , LLM University Of Hertfordshire London, England, associated with party youth wing since more than a decade remained office bearer from Budgam Beerwah.
5. Sheikh Ovais who is nominated provincial secretary of YNC Kashmir is MBA from MS Ramaiah Banglore, businessman by profession remained zonal vice prez of youth wing & addition spokesperson of JKNC.
6. Rais Matoo is MA public policy & administration, was earlier Distt president of youth wing of Budgam has been nominated as zonal head of central Kashmir of youth wing.
7. Feroz Wani who is new zonal head of YNC south remained zonal secretary & vice president before nominated zonal head. A grassroots level worker remained active during election to parliament and assembly recently.
8. Bilal Ganai who served as district president Srinagar was nominated as Provincial Joint secretary for YNC Kashmir. His father was assassinated as he was very prominent political activist from Srinagar.
9. Zahid Mughal is another youth leader who got appointed as zonal president of YNC north Kashmir. A grassroots level worker who remained with party all along worked tirelessly with entire leadership of north Kashmir particularly district Kupwara.
10. Hanan Hassan Qazi who is civil engineer by profession is nominated as senior member of executive committee of YNC Kashmir. He is core member of previous youth body and considered very strong in organising youth activities.
