NC examines suggestions received from public
Srinagar, July 15: National Conference (NC) today examined the suggestions received from public regarding its manifesto about assembly elections.
According to a press release, senior party leader and Former Finance Minister, Abdul Rahim Rather, presided over a second round of meeting of the 15 member party's manifesto committee here in this connection.
“The Manifesto Committee convened today to meticulously analyse the plethora of suggestions received from the public regarding the manifesto. Thousands of emails, messages, and letters flooded in and were thoroughly reviewed by the committee. The committee extended its heartfelt gratitude to the public for their active participation, emphasizing that every contribution is valued and taken seriously, assuring all viable suggestions will be integrated into the final document. Delving into various issues across different sectors, the committee engaged in an intensive eight-hour discussion,” the press release said.
Expressing grave concerns and reservations about the amendments to the Reorganisation Act of 2019, the committee reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to vigorously pursue the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's special status in its original form.
Furthermore, the committee voiced apprehensions regarding the challenges confronting Kashmir's horticulture industry, particularly the apple sector, and pledged unwavering support to orchardists in their ongoing protests. The members also urged the LG administration to alleviate the concerns of the fruit growers and transporters by giving first priority to the vehicles carrying fruits and vegetables on National Highway.
Considering the dire economic situation of the people in Jammu and Kashmir, with a majority of the Valley's population relying on the fruit industry for their livelihood, it is imperative that authorities guarantee the seamless passage of these trucks, the members declared.
