Jammu, Nov 27: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma Thursday hit out at the Congress, NC, and PDP, stating that they deliberately weakened democratic institutions by refusing to empower local representatives.

He said that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who ensured the full implementation of the 3-tier Panchayati Raj System in Jammu and Kashmir after the historic abrogation of Article 370.

Sat Sharma was chairing a meeting with the District Development Council (DDC) chairpersons at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

DDC chairperson Jammu Bharat Bhushan; DDC chairperson Kathua Col (retired) Mahan Singh; DDC chairperson Doda Dhananter Singh Kotwal; DDC chairperson Reasi Saraf Singh Nag; DDC chairperson Samba Keshav Dutt Sharma and DDC chairperson Udhampur Lal Chand Bhagat, attended the meeting.
