NC-Congress alliance will promote separatist ideology: Tarun Chugh

Srinagar, Sep 02: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s National General Secretary, Tarun Chugh on Monday said that the National Conference (NC)-Congress alliance was dangerous for Jammu and Kashmir and it was a part of a conspiracy to promote Separatist ideology.

Speaking at a meeting held at the residence of senior BJP leader Rachpal Verma at Ghagwal in the Samba area of the Jammu region, Chugh, who is also the BJP incharge for J&K, said, “The NC-Congress alliance is part of a conspiracy to keep J&K people away from the national mainstream. This alliance wants to destabilise J&K.”

He said that both Congress and NC wanted to push J&K in violence again and keep the pot boiling as far as Article 370 is concerned.

“They want unrest in J&K,” he said.

Chugh said that NC wants pre- Article 370 and pre-year 1953 status which is a conspiracy to promote autonomy and keep J&K away from the national mainstream.

“Only BJP and its government here is a guarantee to development, long-lasting peace and prosperity,” Chugh said. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government proved this by all-round development in J&K and establishing peace here which has also given boost to tourism.”

He also criticised the Congress for destroying the socio-political fabric of J&K since independence.

Addressing a series of public meetings in the Kishtwar area of Chenab Valley, Chugh said that the Congress created circumstances that led to the death of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who was then the Jan Sangh president.

Chugh said that the Congress later allowed Pakistan’s disruptive elements to strike roots in J&K.

“It gave a long rope to the anti-national forces to gain ground in J&K,” he said.

Chugh said that PM Modi’s government had set in a new era of nationalism and enterprise.

“The J&K youth is looking for a new sunrise and the popularity of BJP is growing every day,” he said. “The BJP wants J&K to lead the nation. The people of J&K are so rich in culture and enterprise. The Modi government will take them all to new heights.”
