NC-Congress alliance has proven costly, have apprehensions of 1987 rigging: Usman Majid
Bandipora, Sep 11: Former minister, and independent candidate from north Kashmir's Bandipora Assembly seat, Usman Majid Wednesday said that he fears what happened in 1987 might happen again. The 1987 elections in Kashmir are largely perceived to have been rigged.
Majid said that the "JKNC-Cong alliance has proven costly for Jammu and Kashmir in the past and I fear the repeat of 1987 rigging."
Majid who was filing his nomination papers from the north Kashmir seat today said, he hopes that it (1987) doesn't repeat and that he will defeat them (JKNC-Cong alliance).
Commenting on the release of parliamentarian from north Kashmir and AIP chief Er Rashid, Majid said, "people know who is good for them."
Referring to LG administration, he said the people were vexed by "one man's rule". "They want to sent their own representative to highlight burning issues like jobs, developments, environment."
