Natural resources being exploited in Tangmarg: JKCSF

Srinagar, May 2: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani, has expressed deep anguish and concern over the alleged consistent exploitation of natural resources in Tangmarg.

In a statement , he alleged that  area is being deliberately  neglected on pressing civic and ecological issues. “It is highly unfortunate that the native water body Nallah Ferozpora, once the lifeline of Tangmarg and its adjoining areas, is being drained to distant locations, leaving the native area on the verge of drought.

The December 2024 water crisis, where nearly 60 percent villages in Sub-Division Gulmarg faced acute shortage, was a clear signal of environmental mismanagement and administrative neglect,”he said.
