Rajouri, Aug 1: Security forces in Rajouri have busted a natural cave based hideout of terrorists in Gulabgarh forests in Kalakote sub division .

Arms and ammunition including six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) with 12 kilograms of explosive material have been recovered from hideout.

The IEDs have been destroyed in-situ through Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of forces.

This hideout built in a natural cave located in rocks at Gulabgarh forests falling under Dharamsal police station in the district was busted by forces during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched in the area.

This anti terror operation was launched by Indian Army, J&K Police and BSF over reports of suspicious movement in this dense forest area which is located near Baaji Maal where an encounter took place on November 22 last year in which five army personnel including three officers lost their lives. Two terrorists were also neutralised.

Official sources said that after reports of suspicious movement, an anti terror operation was launched in the late evening hours on Wednesday that continued throughout the night till Thursday evening.

A natural cave based terrorists hideout established in this area has been busted that was being used by terrorists to hide and to keep their arms, ammunition and other incriminating material including eatables.

The official sources stated that during search of this hideout, arms, ammunition, explosives and other incriminating material and eatables have been recovered.

These include six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing 12 KGs alongwith one AK series rifle and it's 40 bullets, one pistol with 31 bullets, two Hand Grenades, one Pithu bag, some eatables and tobacco products.

The IEDs, they said, were destroyed in-situ through Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) while other arms and ammunition have been seized and taken into possession by forces.
