National recognition for GMC Anantnag pediatrician

Anantnag, May 23: Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pediatrics GMC Anantnag, Dr Showkat Hussain Tali has been selected by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics as State Coordinator for J&K and Ladakh for IAP-ALS BLS courses.

Dr Showkat is the first paediatrician from Kashmir who has been selected for such a prestigious position. The IAP-ALS BLS group has been entrusted by Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) to run BLS (Basic Life support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) courses throughout the country to train common citizens as well as qualified medicos and specialists in life saving skills.

Indian Academy of Pediatrics is the largest academic body of pediatric medicine in India and the second largest body on pediatric medicine in the world.

Principal and Dean GMC Anantnag Prof Rukhsana Najeeb congratulated Dr Showkat for getting selected for such a prestigious position and applauded him for bringing laurels to the college at national level that too at one of the highest seats of learning of pediatric medicine.
