National Medical Commission restores 8 MBBS seats of GMC Jammu

Srinagar, June 21: Undergraduate Medical Education Board of National Medical Commission (NMC) has granted letter of permission for renewal of 180 seats for MBBS for the year 2024-25 in favour of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.

A GMC spokesperson said, “Due to untiring efforts of Principal and Dean GMC Jammu, NMC has restored 8 MBBS seats back to GMC Jammu, thus restoring its total pool of MBBS seats from 172 to 180.”

Meanwhile, in another significant development, GMC Jammu has been selected by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to be the Command Centre for conduct of NEET PG exams to “make the exam fool proof and to avoid any irregularities.”
