Nalin Prabhat leads wreath-laying ceremony in Jammu
Srinagar, Sep 29: Director General of Police (DGP) designate, Nalin Prabhat on Sunday led the wreath-laying ceremony of Head Constable Bashir Ahmad who was killed during an encounter with militants in Kathua on Saturday.
In a solemn ceremony on Sunday evening, Prabhat, who is set to formally assume the role of DGP on Tuesday, paid rich tribute to Head Constable Bashir Ahmad.
Prabhat led the wreath-laying ceremony in Jammu, accompanied by senior officials from the Police, Army, paramilitary forces, and civil administration.
Before the ceremony, Prabhat met with the grieving family of Head Constable Bashir Ahmad.
Offering his condolences, the DGP-designate reassured the family of the unwavering support from the Police force and the country.
“We are with you at all times. The entire nation stands by your side, and we will ensure that the sacrifices made by our brave personnel do not go in vain," he said, expressing solidarity and support.
The encounter in Kathua, which claimed the life of Head Constable Bashir Ahmad on Saturday evening, also resulted in the death of an unidentified militant.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, along with several senior officers from the Police, Army, paramilitary, and civil administration, was present at the ceremony to honour the head constable.
