Myanmar nurses' heroic act during earthquake wins hearts
Srinagar, April 2: A video of nurses protecting newborns at a hospital in Myanmar during the earthquake, which has claimed around 2,056 lives, has gone viral, earning praise for the paramedical staff.
CCTV footage from a maternity unit in Ruili, a Chinese city near Myanmar’s border, shared widely on social media, shows a nurse clutching a baby in her arms while another manages to prevent the newborns from falling from their cots. According to media reports, both the nurses and the newborns escaped unharmed.
In the video it could be seen that the tremors violently shake the cots which had newborns sleeping in them and the heartwarming scene of nurses protecting babies and caring for their lives has won praise. The gesture has been hailed as the dedication of the staff for their job.
