Muzzafar Shah demands release of youth languishing in jails without trial

Srinagar, Jul 31: J&K Awami National Conference Senior Vice President Muzzafar Shah on Thursday called for the immediate release of all those innocent individuals who have been detained without trial for years.

“Thousands continue to languish behind bars without due process. It is high time the government demonstrates its commitment to justice by ensuring their release,” he said as per KNS.

He urged the administration to adopt a transparent, accountable,and humane approach to governance, warning that continued silence on such grave matters would only deepen public distrust,” Shah.

As per KNS, Muzzafar Shah termed the action in the aftermath of Pahalgam attacks as “premature and unjustified,” suggesting it was carried out “hastily to deflect public anger and present a semblance of swift action.”
