Muslim migrants assured of cash relief within week: AKMMC
Jammu, Nov 21: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) K K Sidha has assured All Kashmiri Muslim Migrant Committee (AKMMC) to issue directions for the release of cash relief in favour of registered Muslim migrants within a week’s time.
Assurance was given by the Commissioner in a meeting with the AKMMC delegation on November 20.
AKMMC lauded the assurance given by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) for implementing the High Court directions vis-à-vis release of relief with immediate effect.
The Association members said that the needy genuine migrants, who were dependent upon the cash relief for the requirements of their day-to-day life and medicines, were in very pitiable condition following the stoppage of relief.
They needed immediate release of cash assistance under the migrant category, AKMMC members said.
AKMMC president Nazir Ahmed Lone along with Chaudhary Haroon, Chaudhary Haji Mohd Akbar, Sajad Ahmad Reshi, M Yousuf Ganie and Gh Hassan War, besides others attended the meeting.
They extended gratitude to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner for his assurance to release cash relief within one week.
Lone also lauded him (Commissioner) for ensuring immediate implementation of the High Court’s directions.
The next date of hearing of their case is on November 29, 2023.
