Mumbai to Host Cruise Tourism Conference on August 18
New Delhi, Aug 16: Mumbai Port Trust, in collaboration with the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and the Indian Ports Association (IPA), will host a conference titled “Waterways to Wonder: Unlocking Cruise Tourism” on Monday, August 18. The event will focus on the potential of cruise tourism in India and highlight policy initiatives, best practices and strategies for growth.
The conference will feature addresses from officials of the Ministry of Tourism, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, and other stakeholders.
Discussions will cover policy and regulatory frameworks, coastal and cultural itineraries, cruise terminal best practices, smart terminal operations and green port strategies. A special presentation will be made by NAVIC Cell 4, a unit under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways set up to develop ocean, river and lighthouse tourism. Its vision is to make India a global hub for cruise tourism by creating sustainable cruise circuits.
