Multiple forest fire incidents occur in Reasi, Rajouri, Udhampur
Rajouri, May 30: Multiple incidents of forest fire have been reported during last several days from areas of Reasi, Rajouri, and Udhampur districts .
Extensive damage has been caused in the forest areas spread over several hundreds acres. In Rajouri district alone, six forest fire incidents have been reported during last three days.
As per officials, after earlier incidents of forest fire at Darhal tehsil of Rajouri and Sawni, Agrati and Bathuni areas, fresh forest fire incident took place at Chingus, Pathi Bowli on Wednesday and several acres of forest area suffered damage.
Similarly, a vast area of forest in Kali Dhar range of Reasi district has suffered damage due to forest fire which is spreading in this area from last around five days. Officials said that forest fire erupted from a location in Kali Dhar forest and spread rapidly and has damage a vast forest area.
They said that the fire is still spreading a causing damage to forest area of Kali Dhar including along Jammu-Rajouri- Poonch national highway.
Earlier, forest incident was reported from Darsoo forest area of Udhampur district that caused damage of forest belt in the district.
