Rajouri, Dec 14: Vehicular movement on historic Mughal road is continuing smoothly despite increase in frost conditions.

However, the authorities are demoralising night traffic to ensure that people don't arrive at ‘cut off points for night travel.’

Mughal road, a 90 kilometres long stretch, connects Poonch district with Shopian thus providing an alternate road connectivity of Srinagar Jammu National Highway.

Officials said that in the last one week, frost conditions increased manifold making it highly risky for night travel on road as the stretch became slippery and accident prone.

“Day time traffic is going on smoothly but we are demoralising night traffic,” they said.

Officials further said that many vehicles arrived at cut off points. “When they arrive after cut off timings, the teams on ground do not allow night travel except medical emergency cases,” they added.

“We appeal to everyone to desist from night traffic and do not arrive at stop points after cut off timings,” they said.
