Mughal Road : Snow clearance work again taken up

Rajouri, Jan 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) has again taken up snow clearance work on Mughal Road but road restoration is expected to take few days.

Earlier, snow clearance work was taken up last week and was completed but road could not be restored due to slippery conditions while fresh snowfall again covered the road stretch.

Officials said that during last two days, road stretch from Poshana to Pir Ki Gali on Poonch side and stretch on other side got covered under snow with snow clearance work has been taken up which is going on.  "Our teams of Mechanical Engineering Department have taken up necessary snow clearance work which has been completed upto Panaar bridge and is expected to be completed upto Pir Ki Gali by Wednesday evening." SDM Surankote Farooq Khan Nazki said.

He however added, " Restoration of road is expected to take several days as earlier also, snow was completed last Monday but road could not be restored due to slippery conditions."
