Rajouri, Jan 7: The historic Mughal Road remained closed to vehicular traffic for the third consecutive day on Wednesday as snow clearance operations by the Border Roads Organisation continued amid fresh snowfall.

Officials said the road was closed on Monday morning following fresh snowfall, with heavy accumulation reported along several stretches, particularly near Pir Ki Gali.

They said light snowfall was also recorded on Tuesday morning, which added to the accumulated snow and further delayed restoration efforts.

BRO officials said snow clearance work is underway at full pace, but progress has been hampered by inclement weather conditions.

“The work is continuing, but fresh snowfall and adverse weather are causing delays,” officials said.
