Mughal Road likely to reopen on Saturday
Rajouri, Jan 10: After being closed for two weeks, the Mughal Road is expected to be restored on Saturday provided the weather remains fair.
This announcement was made by SDM Surankote, Farooq Khan Nazki, bringing relief to commuters who rely on this vital route.
The Mughal Road, which connects Bufliaz in Poonch district to Shopian in the Kashmir valley, is a critical artery for trade, commerce, and tourism in the region.
Its closure has caused inconvenience to travelers and affected the local economy.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Farooq Khan Nazki said that a joint inspection of road was conducted on Friday evening wherein some improvement in its surface in terms of slippery conditions has been seen.
"We are going to allow traffic on road on Saturday late morning but this also depends on fair weather conditions," he said.
With the road's reopening, normal life is expected to resume, and the flow of essential goods and services will be restored while many people waiting for resumption of traffic to avail health facilities from hospitals in Kashmir will get a sigh of relief.
