Mughal road likely to reopen for traffic from Apr 10
Srinagar, Mar 24: Authorities on Monday stated that the historic Mughal road will be reopened for vehicular movement from April 10.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Vikas Kundal informed that vehicular movement on historic Mughal road will be allowed from April 10.
“The weather department has predicted snow on March 29. We are monitoring the situation and if there is no snowfall on the very day and skies will remain clear, the authorities will begin road clearance operations from March 30 to ensure trial run of one-sided traffic movement on April 9,” DDC Poonch Vikas Kundal said.
He added once trial run is over, the vehicular movement on the historic Mughal road will be allowed from April 10.
Mughal road which connects Poonch and Rajouri districts to Srinagar in the Kashmir valley, was closed on January this year following heavy snowfall in the region.
