Mughal Road | Fresh snowfall, inclement weather delaying restoration work
Rajouri, Apr 20: Fresh snowfall, inclement weather conditions and slippery surface has once again delayed work for restoration of Mughal Road which could take one or two more days in opening for traffic.
Road was earlier closed on Wednesday keeping in view the hazardous weather conditions prevailing in the upper reaches especially near Pir Ki Gali.
Assistant Executive Engineer Mechanical Engineering Department, Tariq Mahmood told that after closure for three days, the department took up the work of road restoration by snow slides clearance, landslide clearance and removal of shooting stones over the road.
"We carried out the work upto Pir Ki Gali paving way for restoration of road in next one or two days but fresh snowfall started that has again blocked the road," he said.
Further road clearance work now depends on fair weather conditions, he added.
Deputy SP Traffic Rajouri Poonch, Mohammad Nawaz said that road restoration is possible in fair weather conditions but inclement weather conditions are there from last three days and this is causing delay in road opening.
He said that police naka at Bufliyaz is not allowing further movement of vehicles towards Mughal road.
