MP finds NTPHC Lach locked during official hours

Kupwara, Oct 2: Authorities in Kupwara Wednesday constituted a district level enquiry team after Member of Parliament (MP) Er Rashid paid a surprise visit to New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) Lach and found it locked during official hours, a video of which was shared by the former on social media.

Er Rashid can be seen in the video at the locked main gate of the hospital building. Expressing his discontent over the matter, he demanded action against erring employees. Taking cognisance of the matter, Chief Medical Officer Kupwara in a communique to Director Health Services Kashmir, said that swift action was initiated into the issue.

"The Block Medical Officer Langate was directed to visit the facility personally and at that time, the facility was found open,” CMO Kupwara informed the DHSK.

"Block Medical Officer was asked to call an explanation from the erring employees posted there and submit an action taken report within one day besides their (erring employees) salaries have been kept withheld,” CMO informed, adding, “Meanwhile a district level inquiry team has been constituted to investigate the matter and to submit the report within two days for further necessary action.
