Srinagar, July 28: To recognise the contributions of individuals who have significantly impacted society through their work and dedication and extend essential health support to the elderly and those in need, the Moul Mouj Foundation (MMF) Sunday unveiled its Lifetime Privilege Card.

It is a new initiative designed to honour distinguished members of the community and the noble cause aims to extend essential health support to the elderly and those in need.

The inaugural recipients of the Moul Mouj Foundation’s Lifetime Privilege Card are retired IAS officers Muhammad Shafi Pandit and Khurshid A Ganai, poet Zareef Ahmed Zareef, academician Master Roshan Lal Kachru, ex-HOD Medicine, GMC Srinagar Prof Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, ex-HOD Gastroenterology, SKIMS Prof Altaf Shah.

They have been honoured for their exemplary service in various fields, and the Moul Mouj Foundation has pledged to provide them with comprehensive health-related assistance at its facilities, ensuring they receive the highest quality of medical care for life.

Founder and Chairman, Kashmir Clinics Group, Dr Shakeel ur Rehman said, “We are deeply grateful for the invaluable contributions of these stalwarts. This initiative is our way of expressing gratitude and ensuring their well-being in their golden years. Through their recommendations, we will extend this lifetime privilege to seniors who are overlooked, marginalised, or in need.”

In addition to recognising these icons, the Moul Mooj Foundation has extended a request to the recipients to recommend seniors who are financially marginalised.

In his address, Founder and Chairman Moul Mouj Foundation, Dr Zubair Saleem said: “The Moul Mouj Foundation is founded on 12 years of dedicated work and experience, having treated over 30,000 seniors in Jammu and Kashmir. We address critical health issues and promote dignified ageing through comprehensive medical care and community engagement, aiming to create an environment where seniors are cherished, respected, and protected from neglect and abuse. We believe that no elderly should be left behind, and this initiative is a step towards ensuring that our elderly, especially those facing financial hardships, receive the care they deserve.”

All the recipients of the Lifetime Privilege Card praised the commendable efforts of the Moul Mouj Foundation team in raising awareness and their unwavering mission to ensure the holistic health of seniors.

They lauded the foundation’s dedication to addressing the multifaceted needs of the elderly, recognising the significance of such initiatives in promoting the well-being and dignity of senior citizens in our community.

In his speech, Muhammad Shafi Pandit emphasised the critical need for home-based care for the elderly.

While appreciating the efforts of Dr Zubair Saleem and Dr Shakeel ur Rehman, Pandit highlighted that such initiatives were the need of the hour.

Khurshid Ganai said that the Moul Mouj Foundation was diligently working towards ensuring graceful and healthy ageing for seniors.

He emphasised the foundation’s sincere and honest efforts in this noble cause.

Zareef Ahmad Zareef, in his talk, said that many seniors require basic healthcare to achieve dependence-free ageing.

He said that this platform could provide tremendous help to those in need.

Roshan Lal Kachru shared his happiness in seeing his former students, Dr Zubair and Dr Shakeel, championing the mission of senior care.

He said that he had been under Dr Zubair's care for the last seven years and commended his efforts in promoting cost-effective yet potent medicines for lower-middle-class elders.

Dr Muhammad Yousuf Bhat appreciated the two young doctors for initiating this critical project, which he believes addresses one of the burning issues of society.

Dr Altaf Shah said that this noble mission should extend beyond Srinagar to other districts of Kashmir, thereby reaching a broader population in need.
