The 11th International Conference GOSICON-2024 was indeed a momentous occasion, marking a significant milestone in the field of geriatric healthcare in Kashmir. This interdisciplinary conference, organized by the Geriatric Orthopedic Society of India (GOSI), in collaboration with the Department of Orthopedics, GMC Srinagar and the Moul Mouj Foundation (MMF), aimed at advancing the concept and practice of geriatric medicine in the region. It provided an invaluable platform for discussions, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of innovative ideas on improving healthcare for the elderly.

We express our deepest gratitude to GOSI, particularly its visionary founder and national president, Padma Shri Dr. John Ebnezar, for selecting Kashmir as the venue for this prestigious event. His unwavering commitment to geriatric care is an inspiration to all of us, and we are truly honored by his continued support. We were equally privileged to have the distinguished presence of Dr. Parimala Devi, whose contributions to geriatric care have been exemplary. Her presence added immense value to the conference.

The conference brought together doyens from the fields of orthopedics and other medical specialties, whose presentations and research papers sparked thought-provoking dialogue. Luminaries such as Dr. SS Amarnath, National Secretary of GOSI, along with stalwarts like Dr. Dipak Dave, Dr. SS Jha, Dr. NK Magu, Dr. Rajesh Gupta, and many others, shared their expertise, making this conference an enriching experience for all attendees.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Department of Orthopedics, GMC Srinagar, whose unwavering support made this conference possible, particularly Prof. Altaf Kawoosa and Dr. Asif Nazir, whose dedication and hard work were instrumental in the success of this event. Their collaborative spirit and commitment to advancing the field of geriatric care in Kashmir have been truly commendable.

At Moul Mouj Foundation, we remain deeply committed to the cause of advancing geriatrics in Kashmir. This conference not only underscored our shared goals with GOSI but also reaffirmed the strong association between both organizations. Dr. John Ebnezar has assured us that GOSI will continue to strengthen its collaboration with MMF, as we both work toward the common goal of providing better, more compassionate care for the elderly. It was a humbling moment for us when Dr. John lauded the efforts of Dr. Zubair Saleem, recognizing his pivotal role in organizing this impactful conference.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the conference was the felicitation ceremony, where we were filled with pride and honor as two esteemed members of MMF, Mrs. Masooda Jalal Rajpuri and Mr. Ghulam Jeelani Nehvi, were recognized for their contributions.

The success of GOSICON-2024 has not only elevated the conversation around geriatric healthcare in Kashmir but also strengthened the resolve of all stakeholders involved. This conference has reinforced the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together experts from various fields to address the complex healthcare needs of the elderly. We look forward to future collaborations and continuing our mission to improve the quality of life for seniors in Kashmir and beyond.
