Motorcyclist killed, pillion rider injured in road accident in north Kashmir's Pattan

Srinagar, Mar 24: A bike rider lost his life and another person sustained injuries in a road accident at Khanpeth Pattan involving a tipper and a motorcycle.

An official told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred between a Tipper bearing registration number JK01L-0305 and a bike bearing registration number JK15A-2738, driven by Qamar bin Hashim, son of Hashim, resident of Anderkoot.

He was accompanied by a pillion rider, Zeeshan Hussain Malla, son of Zafar Hussain Malla, resident of Shilvat.

The bike rider, Qamar bin Hashim, died on the spot, while the pillion rider was referred to SDH Pattan for treatment, official said.

The body of the deceased has been shifted to SDH Pattan for medico-legal formalities.

The driver has been taken into custody and his tripper has been seized by Police Post Mirgund, the official said.

Cognizance has been taken under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation has been initiated, he added.
