Mother, child die in cylinder explosion in J&K’s Poonch

Poonch, Jan 21: A mother and her child lost their lives in a cylinder explosion on Tuesday in the remote Jandrola area of block Sathra in Tehsil Mandi of Poonch district.

An official said that mother and her child lost their lives in a cylinder explosion in the remote Jandlora area of Poonch district.

The duo has been identified as Shazia Akhtar (28), and her one-year-old child, both residents of the house belonging to Muhammad Sajjad, officials said.

Reports said that the gas cylinder exploded when Shazia was working in the kitchen.

Meanwhile police have taken cognizance of the incident, and initiated further investigation.
