MoS Defence visits Chinar Corps, reviews operational readiness

Srinagar, July 26: Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth paid a visit to the 15 Corps headquarters on Friday and reviewed operational preparedness.

During his visit, senior Army officials briefed Seth on the prevailing operational situation.

The briefing encompassed a comprehensive overview of the security dynamics, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, and measures being undertaken to ensure peace and stability in Kashmir.

The 15 Corps also known as Chinar Corps, headquartered in Srinagar, plays a crucial role in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Seth interacted with the troops, acknowledging and complimenting their unwavering commitment and dedication.

Addressing the soldiers, he lauded their relentless efforts in safeguarding the nation and maintaining peace in the volatile region.

He emphasised the importance of being combat-ready and prepared for all contingencies, highlighting the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The nation is proud of the courage and dedication displayed by our armed forces. Your commitment to duty, even in the face of adverse conditions, is commendable. The government stands firmly with you, ensuring that you have the best resources and support to carry out your mission effectively,” he said.

The visit also included discussions on the welfare and morale of the troops.

Seth assured the soldiers that their welfare was a top priority for the government and that efforts were continually being made to enhance their living and working conditions.

This visit comes at a time when the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir is under scrutiny, with a renewed focus on countering terrorism and maintaining law and order.

The Chinar Corps has been at the forefront of numerous successful operations, killing threats and ensuring the safety and security of Kashmir.

“Chinar Corps Commander paid homage to the Kargil bravehearts, who made the supreme sacrifice 25 years ago, by laying a wreath at the Chinar War Memorial in Srinagar,” Chinar Corps Indian Army posted on microblogging site X.
