MoS Defence meets European Commission’s Commissioner for Defence, Space

New Delhi, Feb 28: Junior Defence Minister Sanjay Seth met with the European Commission’s Commissioner for Defence and Space, Mr. Andrius Kubilius, in New Delhi today to discuss India-EU bilateral defence and security cooperation.

Their talks focused on strengthening maritime engagements and enhancing information sharing in the Indo-Pacific region.

The discussions also explored opportunities to deepen defence industrial collaboration, particularly through European defence firms' participation in joint ventures and co-production initiatives in India. Additionally, both sides examined India's potential role in the European Union’s Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) and other EU-led defence and development programs. Mr. Kubilius is visiting India as part of a high-level European Commission delegation led by its President, accompanied by the College of Commissioners.
