More than just a call for action
The Indian public is no longer willing to accept diplomatic measures that yield little results in stopping Pakistan’s terror activities. The demand for action against Pakistan is higher than ever after decades of terror attacks. Recently the Pakistan backed terrorist attack which resulted in the killing of innocent holidaying tourist in Pahalgam has led to mounting pressure on the government to take swift and decisive action.
The phrase mention in Shiv Purana “Veer Bhogya Vashubhdra” is more than just a call for action. It symbolise the sacred duty of every Indian to protect the nation’s honour — from the armed forces on the frontline to the common citizen who stands in solidarity with the country’s fight against terrorism. In the current context of India-Pakistan tensions, it symbolise the resolve of Indian soldiers, civilians, and the nation as a whole — ready to sacrifice for the honour and security of the nation.
This mantra speaks to India’s warrior spirit, rooted deeply in history, and stands as a reminder that bravery, unity, and strength define the future of the nation. The country’s military might, strategic thinking, and unity of purpose reflect the meaning of this phrase — the brave will lead, and the land will flourish through their courage, even at great personal cost. India’s military capabilities have grown exponentially in recent years. The combination of a well-equipped army, a technologically advanced air force, a strong navy, and a credible nuclear deterrent gives India a significant edge over Pakistan.
India’s military is more advanced, well-funded, and technologically superior compared to Pakistan’s. The scale of India’s defence and its strategic depth give it a distinct edge in terms of conventional warfare and nuclear deterrence. India has not only the personnel and equipment but also the strategic thinking and modernisation to ensure that it can respond effectively to any threats. India’s military superiority means that Pakistan would struggle to match India in a direct conflict, but the risk of nuclear escalation makes any military confrontation highly dangerous. India is not willing to engage in diplomacy with Pakistan and the situation reaches a boiling point; Pakistan faces a very difficult set of choices. These choices come with significant risks, given the military disparity, nuclear deterrence, and global consequences.
Freedom and security come at a cost. It inspires them to stay united, supporting the country’s leadership in times of crisis, and reminds them that the sacrifices of those fighting on the frontline ultimately protect the country’s peace, India’s strategic role in global defence and its message to the world: Terrorism will not be tolerated, and those who support it will be held accountable. India does not just rely on internal strength but seeks to unite the world against terrorism, as seen in global efforts to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and economically. Water warfare is a potent tool that India could use to exert pressure on Pakistan. The consequences of using water as a weapon are far-reaching and highly risky. Any significant disruption in water flow would not only have severe economic, social, and environmental impacts on Pakistan, but it could also escalate tensions to the point of military conflict.
India’s military actions reflect a readiness to go the distance to ensure that terrorism is rooted out — not just in Kashmir but in every part of India. An end to the cycle of provocation from Pakistan will show that India is tough on terror and willing to go extra mile to secure the safety of its citizens when necessary.
