Modi Govt working to build developed J&K: Home Minister
Srinagar, Apr 8: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government was working to build a developed Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairing a review meeting on development projects in J&K in Srinagar, he said that the Modi government was working with an unwavering resolve towards building a developed J&K.
Shah said that the tireless efforts of PM Modi were ushering in a new era of prosperity for every citizen through development and welfare initiatives.
He said that J&K was accelerating on the path of growth in every sector.
“Untiring efforts of the Modi government to accelerate the pace of development in J&K have resulted in comprehensive changes in all sectors,” the Home Minister said.
He directed to take all necessary steps to further accelerate the pace of development in J&K so that the full potential of UT could be utilised.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Government of India is fully committed to establishing new dimensions of development in J&K and paving the way for prosperity for the local people,” Shah said.
He said that the all-inclusive development in every aspect of public welfare underlines the Modi government's commitment to transform J&K through positive reforms.
During the review meeting, the achievements of J&K in the fields of power, connectivity, industry, tourism, and agriculture were presented to the Home Minister.
Apart from this, the financial assistance given to J&K so far by the Union Home Ministry and the financial assistance allocated to J&K under various heads in the financial year 2024-25 were also mentioned in the presentation.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and senior officials of the central and J&K governments.
