Modi govt committed to bright future of farmers by increasing MSP of crops: Tarun Chugh

Chandigarh, June 20: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said today that the promise of welfare of farmers made in the BJP manifesto has been made a reality by increasing the MSP.

In a statement, he said that Modi's guarantee is the welfare of farmers, welfare and empowerment of poor, youth, and Nari Shakti in the country.

“It is known that yesterday, in the interest of farmers, the Modi government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the MSP prices for 2024-25 on 14 Kharif crops,” he said.

Chugh said that with this decision, farmers will get about Rs two lakh crore as MSP. This is Rs 35,000 crore more than last season, he added. The senior BJP leader added Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised in the manifesto that the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will be strengthened to provide continuous financial assistance to the farmers. Its installment has also been released by the Prime Minister from Varanasi two days ago, due to which the amount has gone directly to the bank account of the farmers, he added.
