Modi congratulates Australian PM Albanese on historic second term
New Delhi, May 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese on securing a historic second term as the 32nd Prime Minister of Australia, during a telephone conversation between the two leaders.
The two Prime Ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to bolstering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), highlighting the steady progress made over the past five years.
They noted growing cooperation across multiple sectors, underpinned by the contributions of the Indian diaspora in Australia. Both leaders also discussed regional and global developments, expressing a mutual resolve to work closely in advancing a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific. Modi extended an invitation to Albanese to visit India, including for the Annual Bilateral Summit and the upcoming QUAD Summit scheduled to be hosted in India later this year. The leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
