Moderate rains, thundershower likely to continue in J&K parts till Aug 30: MeT

Srinagar, Aug 26: Meteorological Department on Monday predicted light to moderate rain and thundershower at many places of Jammu and Kashmir, with possibility of brief showers at few places towards late afternoon till August 30.

An official informed that from August 26 to 30 there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershower at many places of Jammu and Kashmir towards late night/early morning. He said brief showers at few places towards late afternoon may take place in the meanwhile.

The official said that on August 31 there is a possibility of brief spell of rain/thundershower at isolated to scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir.

From September 1 to 3 there will be generally dry weather with possibility of brief showers at few places of J&K, he said.

The official warned about possibility of intense showers for a brief period at few places with heavy rains at isolated places of Jammu division during August 26 to September 30 towards late night/early morning.

He added that flashfloods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over few vulnerable area may also occur.
