Mobile passport van reaches Kargil to facilitate ease of applying

Srinagar, Jun 17: The Passport Seva Project (PSP), under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is committed to providing swift and transparent passport-related services to citizens. In line with this objective, the Ministry has introduced the 'Mobile Passport Van Service' to ensure seamless passport facilities for applicants across various jurisdictions, including remote areas, said a statement.

Under this initiative, the Regional Passport Office, Srinagar, will operate the Mobile Passport Van to serve applicants within its jurisdiction. From Monday, June 16, 2025, to Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the Mobile Passport Van is stationed at National Information Centre, VC Hall, New Building, Near Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kargil.

Residents and workers in Kargil and nearby areas can avail passport services by booking an appointment through the official website www.passportindia.gov.in. Applicants must select 'Passport Van' as the service option and choose their preferred slot during the specified dates. On the day of the appointment, applicants should visit the designated location at the scheduled time and contact the Mobile Passport Van team (Registration No. PB65BF1377) for further assistance. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and convenience for citizens in remote regions, ensuring efficient and hassle-free passport services.
