MMF sponsors participation of students from far-flung areas in TechKnow 2025 at DPS Srinagar
Srinagar, Sep 15: Ten students from Government Middle School (GMS) Onagam and IEI School Bonkoot, hailing from remote areas of Bandipora district, participated in the two-day high-tech workshop TechKnow 2025, organised by DPS Srinagar.
The event, which brought together nearly 400 students from 35 leading private schools across Kashmir, exposed participants to cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence, video editing, and advanced computing.
The participation of these students was made possible through the sponsorship of Moul Mouj Foundation (MMF) under its flagship Intergenerational Communication Project.
“There is immense brilliance and raw talent in students studying in government schools and institutions in remote areas. Our sponsorship aims to create inclusive avenues for these children, allowing them to explore technology, innovation, and creativity alongside peers from privileged institutions,” said Project Head Prof. Syeda Afshana.
Javaid Jawad, Head of Institution at GMS Onagam and a state award-winning teacher, described the event as a milestone for his students and thanked DPS Srinagar and Pro Vice Chairman Vijay Dhar for their support.
Seerat Yousuf, escort teacher from IEI School Bonkoot, added, “This was our students’ first exposure outside their school environment. Participating in such a prestigious event was an honour. We are grateful to Prof. Afshana, MMF, and DPS Srinagar for making this possible.”
The students expressed excitement over the workshop, highlighting how it broadened their horizons and enhanced their understanding of emerging technologies.
MMF emphasised that the sponsorship was part of its ongoing efforts to bridge the opportunity gap between students from elite institutions and those from far-flung areas, fostering equal participation and preparing them for future challenges.
