MLA Uri raises key constituency issues in assembly
Jammu, Mar 22: MLA Uri, Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri, actively raised several pressing issues concerning the Uri constituency in the Assembly, urging immediate government intervention.
During the session, Dr Sajjad highlighted the need for a Hostel for ST (Scheduled Tribe) students in ST 1 and ST 2 areas, emphasising the importance of educational facilities for marginalised communities.
He also called for directives to be issued to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri to ensure that ST certificates are provided to the entire Sub-Division Uri without unnecessary delays. Addressing the water crisis in Uri, he stressed the urgent need for infrastructural improvements to provide clean drinking water to residents. He further pushed for the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Amrit Scheme to be implemented efficiently in Uri Town, ensuring better water supply management.He said Get My Salary and Give Water to People of Uri constituency.
Dr Sajjad also advocated for granting No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for gypsum mines in the region, which would contribute to economic development.
